The Subtle Art of Rejection (Anthony Yazbec)

My guts wrench with inner turmoil.
What in the hell am I to do?
It feels like biting on tin foil.

“I love you” makes my heart recoil.
Face… seventeen shades of blue.
My guts wrench with inner turmoil.

Her snide response makes my blood boil.
Every single word said was true.
I bite down hard on the tin foil.

“We don’t mix” like oil and water.
That half-hearted smile will kill you.
My guts wrench with inner turmoil.

Like an ostrich, my head’s in the soil.
I’m humiliated by you.
It feels like biting on tin foil.

She and I could never be royal.
She’ll never find her missing shoe.
My guts wrench with inner turmoil.
I bite down hard the tin foil.
